What is Overall Equipment Effectiveness (O.E.E.)?

Overall Equipment Effectiveness (O.E.E.) is used as a best practice KPI in TPM (Total Productive Manufacturing) and lean manufacturing transformation programmes, to measure and improve the efficiency of production or operational processes.

Definition of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (O.E.E.)

O.E.E. provides insight into how effectively a machine, production line or even an entire manufacturing plant is performing in terms of scheduling, availability, performance and quality of output.

O.E.E. categorises the most common and important sources of productivity losses, distilling them into statistics that provide an excellent indicator to measure where you stand and how to improve.
