Obeya (Japanese for 'big room') brings strategy, goals, performance and actions together in one clear place. This creates a shared view of what is important and where adjustments need to be made. Obeya makes it possible to organise complex information visually and connects different teams and departments around common goals.
This training course will show you how to approach performance management in a more integrated and people-oriented way. You will learn how Obeya not only helps you achieve better results, but also strengthens ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement within your organisation.

Our approach

During this training, you will learn how to create and implement an Obeya change story to strengthen collaboration, increase focus and accelerate decision-making.

  • The training consists of three intensive training days, in which theory and practice go hand in hand. We combine a clear theoretical foundation with interactive exercises, constantly drawing on the concrete challenges and projects of the participants.
  • You will immediately apply the Obeya principles to your own context, making what you have learned directly applicable in practice.
  • The training also offers opportunities to exchange experiences with other professionals, providing additional inspiration and learning opportunities.
  • In addition, your learning process is supported by an online learning platform, where you have access to additional material and assignments.
  • Upon completion, you will receive a certificate of participation.

What can you expect?

After completing this training, participants will:

  • Have insight into the principles of the Obeya method and how it can be applied within performance management. 
  • Understand the role of change management in the successful implementation of Obeya in an organisation.
  • Be able to demonstrate effective leadership during the transition to an Obeya-based performance management system.

Day 2: 

  • The Obeya Room and KPI determination
  • The different roles in Obeya
  • The meeting routine and standard agenda
  • Exercise with cases: applying the fundamentals of Obeya

Day 3: 

  • The importance of Visual Management 
  • Working digitally with iObeya
  • Implementing Obeya
  • Change management and embedding the change
  • Intervision moment
