The times, they are a-changing

The times, they are a-changing

Come gather ’round people

Wherever you roam

And admit that the waters

Around you have grown

And accept it that soon

You’ll be drenched to the bone

If your time to you is worth savin’

Then you better start swimmin’ or you’ll sink like a stone

For the times they are a-changin’

Bob Dylan sang back in 1964 that times are changing. And he is right. The world of then is not the world of today and even less the world of tomorrow. But that need not be a negative. Thanks to technological progress, we are evolving day by day into a different future. And yes, compared to 50 years ago, we have become a bit spoilt and also rather more demanding.

We have become used to the huge range of products on the market. We have become used to the speed at which we can order and get those products delivered. We have become used to digital/mobile solutions that make life a lot more convenient. We have become used to automation, computers, smartphones, clouds, networks, ... We have also become aware that this all has an environmental impact. And so yes, then you do become demanding.

Moreover, the speed at which we are evolving is increasing. So continuing with what we are doing is not enough. It is time for us to change, because times are changing.

And oddly enough, the solution lies in embracing that new technology. Cause is also solution. That's what our panel discussion was about.
